Volunteer Information

Volunteers are always needed -

SYSO is a 100% volunteer - run program. Without parent participation, we cannot exist!! Please consider volunteering your time & talents to the program. High school students needing community service credits are welcome!

· Referee - Refs help to keep the games fair and safe. Refs are assigned to a field on game day. Each field usually has two games played. Refs are used in the Under 8 division and higher.

· Coach / Assistant Coach - Coaches will attend the coach's meeting to receive team rosters, equipment, and schedules and learn positive coaching techniques. Coaches sign up to reserve field space for practices at the meeting. They are responsible for distributing and collecting SYSO jerseys, and for distribution of team rosters and communications. Coaches will recieve a team shirt and a $10 discount. We will have a mandatory coaches meeting in late March.

· Seasonal Equipment - These volunteers will be responsible for dividing the equipment into bags for coaches prior to the start of the season. You will be responsible for an inventory list. You will be provided with all the info needed. This volunteer will also be responsible at the last game to check in all bags from coaches.

· Field Lining - These volunteers help line the fields. The lining should take place on Monday or Thursday evenings prior to games. Not all fields will need to be completely lined every week.

· Picture Coordinator - This volunteer will be responsible for scheduling each team a slot for pictures. They will contact the coaches by phone or email to inform of picture schedule. This volunteer will be coordinating the SYSO photographer. After the pictures have been returned, the volunteer will distribute the pictures to the coaches.

Concession Stand-These volunteers work 1-2 hour shifts, serving food and drinks. We will always try to schedule enough volunteers so that no one misses their children's games.
